2️⃣ Bolster behind the ankle – Great for supporting tight hips or knees while still getting that shoulder release.
3️⃣ Knee bent, arms open – Adds a beautiful twist and heart opener—perfect for when you want a bit more space.

Ever find yourself in a yoga pose thinking, “Wait… haven’t I been here before?” 🤔 You probably have—and that’s the magic of the practice. ✨ So many yoga postures are reflections of one another, just flipped or rotated. What changes is our relationship to gravity. 🌍
Lying down, standing up, facing the earth or the sky—these shifts in orientation might feel like entirely new shapes, but often they’re working the same muscles 💪, inviting the same openings 🧘♀️, or building the same strength 🔥.
Once we recognize these connections, we can move through our practice with more clarity and confidence. 💫 We begin to see options instead of obstacles. Modifications aren’t shortcuts—they’re smart choices that honor our bodies exactly as they are today. ❤️

Modification series, part 1: 🧘♀️✨
dLet’s talk about Child’s Pose (Balasana) — a posture centered around rest and release. Even the most restful shapes can benefit from additional support. Here are three ways to use blocks and a bolster to make this pose more comfortable:
1. Block under the forehead – Helps keep the neck aligned if your head doesn’t easily reach the mat, and can help you feel more grounded.
2. Bolster under the forehead – A softer alternative to a block, offering gentle support for the head, neck, and chest. Ideal for longer holds for deeper relaxation.
3. Bolster layered over two blocks – Set two blocks at medium or high height and rest a bolster across them like a bridge. Drape your torso over the bolster and turn your head to the side for a supported, restorative experience. Feel free to give the bolster a hug for an extra calming boost to the nervous system!
Everyone’s body is different — props are not a crutch, they’re a bridge to deeper comfort. 🧡
