YOGA IMMERSION

For Experienced Practitioners

Training Dates and Curriculum

This training is right for you if you want to deepen your knowledge and understanding of the practice of yoga, if you want to apply yogic principles in your daily life with greater commitment, and you are sure you don’t want to be a teacher.  There are 10 spaces available. Those completing this program do not receive a certification, but can earn continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance if applicable.

  • February 7-9, 21-23, March 8-9, 22-23
  • WEEKEND 1: YOGA HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY
  • WEEKEND 2: ANATOMY: PHYSICAL AND ENERGETIC
  • WEEKEND 3: PRANAYAMA AND MEDIATION
  • WEEKEND 4: MYTHS, MANTRAS AND SCIENCE OF SOUND

 

General Times:

  • Friday: 5:30-9:30pm (2 Fridays in February)
  • Saturdays: 11-3
  • Sundays : 11-3

Reserving your Space for the Yoga Immersion:

Place 50% down to reserve your space.  You may submit your deposit by check, cash, or on the link below. Deposits are nonrefundable per our refund policy and no refunds will be given once training begins. 

Yoga Immersion 

Cost: Members: $897, Non-members $997 
  • The cost for the immersion includes 4 weekends of training totaling 40 hours and is not eligible for a teaching certificate.
  • If you want to take advantage of some but not all of the program, the cost for an individual weekend  is $325. Please contact the studio directly and we can assist in your registration for individual weekends.

YOGA IMMERSION CURRICULUM

Postures (Asana)

  • Detailed study of key yoga postures 
  • Physical and energetic benefits of postures
  • Demonstrating asana
  • Use of props and other modifications to support the postures
  • Learning to see and understand bodies in terms of proper alignment
  • Understand the physical effects of yoga on the body

MEDITATION and Breath Practices (dyana and pranayama)

  • Learn a variety of meditation techniques to focus and quiet the mind.
  • Learn mantra and its benefits
  • Learn various breath practices
  • Learn the benefits of meditation and breath work on the mind and body

ANATOMY (Physical and energetic)

  • Anatomy and physiology will be studied.
  • Correct physical alignment
  • Learn how to avoid injury in key areas, and how to work with basic injuries
  • Learn the energetic effects of yoga on the body
  • The Chakra system

YOGIC HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY

  • Study Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and how these teachings provide a very real model that can be applied to daily life
  • Yoga’s origins and journey to the West and the most influential yogis of our time
  • Introduction to yogic mantras and mythology
  • Introduction to Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga
Tuladhara Yoga Session

PHYSICAL PRACTICE

  • Yoga is an experiential practice; throughout training, you will be guided through classes with faculty, as well as attend public yoga classes each week.  You should have a physical asana practice established for at least 6 months prior to this training
