Community bodywork offers a welcoming space where people come together to heal. Similar to a yoga class, coming together with intention creates a powerful field that promotes the healing process for everyone. Clients can expect to receive bodywork tailored to their individual needs while sharing space with others. Focused sessions allow more people to have access to affordable, high-quality bodywork.
Bodywork is a broad term that includes many approaches to healing that are all based in working with the body. You will find more detailed descriptions of what each practitioner offers below. Clients remain fully clothed during their session.
Integrative Thai Yoga: Whether you feel physically stuck or stagnant, are seeking more emotional balance, or long to feel nurtured in spirit, an Integrative Thai Yoga session is like hitting the reset button on your whole being. In this session, your only work is to relax! Sona will use her body to move, loosen and stretch your body, working through soft tissues and bringing mobility to the joints. Treatments are systematically designed to open the physical body and energy channels while relaxing the mind and heart, for a synergistic effect. Within any session, all techniques will be tailored to your unique body, needs and preferences, not an idealized body.
Sona’s sessions utilize breath to create space in the body and also integrate Qi healing to release energetic blockages and enhance the level of life force in the body. Additional time to rest in restorative postures will support and nourish the bodywork you have received, leaving you open and grounded. Each session is approached with reverence, respect and intuitive awareness. Plan for a 40 minute session and if your schedule allows, an additional 15 minutes to meditate before you transition back into your day.
The Yoga Remedy: If you feel like your yoga practice helps with ongoing pain in the moment, but want to feel longer-term results, this is a good option for you. Your session will be an opportunity to work in a one-on-one setting on a specific area that is causing you pain, and will combine strengthening and stretching postures with hands-on assists. You’ll leave with “homework” to continue improving your movement patterns and awareness on and off the mat.
Time to rest in restorative postures during the latter part of the session will allow your muscles and nervous system to integrate the work that you did, and a short grounding practice at the end will help you feel ready to rock.
*** Make sure to register and pay for the session in advance, there will be no walk ins. ***
