TACOMA STUDIO UPDATE  11/21/2024

Over the years, this space has housed a dedicated yoga community for many years. There have always been ups and downs and challenges that come with occupying an older building. However, the former owner was always easy to work with and genuinely cared about the community and creating a positive outcome for everyone. Sadly, since Bill’s passing this past year, the building has come under new management, and our experience has not been the same.

We’ve faced numerous challenges that have affected our use of the space and, most importantly, our students’ experience. This has included several months of construction that disrupted our classes and impacted our ability to provide the quality environment our students’ expect. Most recently, due to further complications with their construction schedule, we have been informed that we must vacate our current space by the end of the year. Our last classes in the Tacoma location will be Sunday, December 22nd

This news is truly heartbreaking, as this location has been a beloved part of the Proctor community for over a decade. When I took on this responsibility during the pandemic, I was deeply committed to keeping this community together, and that commitment remains my priority today. Although this change brings challenges, we have found a space less than 2.5 miles away that will be a wonderful space for yoga.

We will keep you updated on all upcoming changes. I understand the impact this has on each of you, our staff and on the Proctor community we cherish. As we prepare for our new location, I am actively exploring temporary options to ensure we can continue serving our clients and preserving the connections that mean so much to us all.  If you have any questions please email us at [email protected]

Thank you for your resilience, understanding, and support.

With loving kindness, Alicia and the Tula Team

Dear students

I’m writing to update you on some important changes to our class locations as we transition out of our Tacoma space. As a reminder, our last day at the current Tacoma location is 12/22.

While we prepare for our new location, we will continue offering classes at our two other spaces in Lakewood or Gig Harbor. We will be moving as many classes as possible over to those locations so you can continue practicing with the teachers that you love.

Additionally, we’ll be hosting pop-up classes in the Tacoma area to stay connected to the community we all cherish. These pop-ups will provide a way to keep practicing locally until we open our new space.

We understand that these changes may affect your ability to attend classes. If attending classes at the Lakewood or Gig Harbor locations, or the Tacoma pop-ups, doesn’t work for you, we are happy to pause your membership or class pass until we reopen at our new location.  If you’d like to pause your membership or class pass, or if you have questions about the new locations or pop-up classes, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] or 253-244-9056.

As you can imagine, this change is difficult for the staff and business as a whole. Your support, patience, and flexibility during this transition means the world to us. Our commitment to providing you with a nurturing yoga experience remains unwavering, and we look forward to continuing to grow together as a community.  Thank you for being part of our Kula.

With gratitude and loving kindness,

Alicia Barrett, Studio Owner, Tuladhara Yoga Studios

Hello Tacoma Kula,

Thank you for your patience as we navigate the many logistics involved in our move. There’s a lot to consider, and things are evolving moment by moment! I’d also like to extend my gratitude to our team for handling all the questions, comments, and concerns that have come up. Ambiguity can be challenging, and we’ve been swimming in it a bit these past few weeks.I’m excited to share that we have secured a temporary location to hold classes starting in early January! Our goal is to begin classes by January 6th in the event room at Manuscript Restaurant, located at 203 Tacoma Ave S, in the Stadium District. Please note that class entry will be on the side of the building on St. Helens Street. We will be able to offer most of our original class times, with some exceptions and our members even get 10% off at the restaurant! Stay tuned for updates about our schedule and opening date!In the meantime, we’ll be offering a modified schedule over the next two holiday weeks at our Lakewood and Gig Harbor locations. The updated schedule is now live on Walla. Thank you again for your support and understanding as we transition into this new chapter. We can’t wait to welcome you into our temporary space soon!

Warmly,
Alicia
